Mascia Brunelli S.p.A. and Biolife Italiana S.r.l. are two companies that belong to the same group and that have been operating in the in vitro diagnostic fields for microbiology, haematology, clinical chemistry, immunology, products for tissue culture and medical devices for many years. Both companies are located in Milan, Viale Monza 272, and occupy an area of approximately 3500 m2.
Biolife Italiana S.r.l. has a well-established reputation in the manufacture of powdered and ready-to-use culture media for microbiology, of supplements and enrichments, and of kits and reagents for microbial identification. Biolife Italiana S.r.l. is also the authorised, exclusive Distributor of some foreign companies for in vitro diagnostic products for microbiology in Italy.
Mascia Brunelli S.p.A manufactures in vitro diagnostic products for immunohaematology and clinical chemistry and haemostatic devices for surgery (class 3 medical devices). In addition to being distributor of other types of medical devices, Mascia Brunelli S.p.A also distributes products for tissue culture, immunohaematology, and molecular biology Mascia Brunelli-Biolife set out to fully meet the needs of their customers in terms of pre- and after-sales product and support service performance, and to establish a process that continuously improves the products and services offered to the customers.
Quality Assurance
A strict Quality Assurance System ensures that the design, manufacture and distribution of the products are in compliance with formulated specifications and with the mandatory and prescribed requirements.
Mascia Brunelli S.p.A and Biolife Italiana S.r.l. are certified for the design, manufacture, control and distribution of medical devices and in vitro diagnostic devices pursuant to EN ISO 9001:2000, ISO 13485.
The in vitro diagnostic products are manufactured and distributed in compliance with European Directive 98/79/EC, whereas the medical devices are in compliance with European Directive 48/72/EC.
Design
Mascia Brunelli S.p.A and Biolife Italiana S.r.l have Laboratories fitted out with modern equipment, for Quality Control, Research and Development, with personnel who are university graduates and qualified technicians. Important results have been obtained in the field of design:
Professional Cosmetics
Mascia Brunelli Spa has started in 2005 the distribution of the innovative and patent product Epilar System. As well as the head office of research and production in Milano, the Swiss branche in Chiasso Mascia Brunelli Sagl offer a support service in key area of development. Continuous innovation in formulation, thanks to scientific research, Mascia Brunelli has created 2 systems for face care: Anti Ageing System and Purifying System. The laboratories are able to draw out nature’s benefits from the infinite potential she has to offer us, combining the intelligence of science with her wisdom.
As a result, each time we study a new product we look for the best synergy of innovative ingredients and the most reliable solutions in order to guarantee the satisfaction of our clients.
Sales Organisation
Both companies have a rational sales organisation that covers the entire national territory and that is diversified for the medical and laboratory sectors.
They operate in the foreign market through distributors in many European, Middle Eastern, African and Far Eastern countries.

Guido Rovesti graduated in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Milan in 1959, after which he held in the same Faculty the position of Tenured Assistant Professor of Organic Chemistry for two years. From 1960 Guido Rovesti was director of the Institute of Research on Herbal/Cosmetologic Plant Derivatives, and from 1984 of the Paolo Rovesti Institute, which houses the vast cultural heritage left mainly by his father and consisting in over 15,000 publications on Chemistry, Cosmetology, Herbal Medicine, Phytocosmetics and studies on Officinal Plants, researches on natural derivatives and conference proceedings from all over the world. He is currently honorary president of the Professional Beauticians’ Union. A highly-regarded researcher and cosmetologist with great experience and sensitivity, Rovesti is author of a number of important publications on cosmetological chemistry and studies on essential oils.
